I decided to become a teacher because as I was growing up and attending school I would always be the student rushing to help other students who were not catching on to the new concepts quickly. I was always the responsible student who understood where the teacher was coming from in all of his/her decisions. Also, my mother became a teacher while providing for her family and as my inspiration I decided to go into the same field. I have always enjoyed mathematics and have always found that things just 'clicked' for me. I will be graduating in the Spring of 2009 with my Bachelors of education with a specialization in mathematics and I am very excited to be joining fellow teachers. I believe that all students have the capability to learn and just require the right motivation and support to be successful. My strengths include my personality and my content knowledge. I am very outgoing and positive. I enjoy a challenge and thrive under pressure. I also have taken many math classes and participated in math clubs and activities as well as tutoring to increase my knowledge on what kinds of methods students do well with when learning mathematics.
